Ringing in 2018

Ringing in 2018

There is something so special about the night going into the start of a New Year. Here at Lighthouse Lakes, we feel that it is the hope for something better to come that makes it such an exciting time.  Many of us spend the night reflecting and celebrating achievements as well as mistakes that have placed us where we are today. This is why; we believe that you should ring in the New Year in a place that you want to be most surrounded by the people you care for most. As a courtesy, we’ve taken the first step in compiling local events that will hopefully assist you in planning your own unique way to ring in 2018.

If you are looking for an all-inclusive night out then Seacrets Jamaica and Fagers Island are your best bets. At both, guests will enjoy live entertainment, plenty of party favors, and a Champaign toast to top it all off at midnight. Another great thing about these venues is that they each offer several seating times for dinner which will make it that much easier to book the right slot for you and your crew. Not to mention, the cover charger is included with the dinner reservation so you won’t have to worry about that either.  Reservations and/or ticket purchase is required prior to entry. For more information on both events visit the websites listed below.

Or if you are the type of person who likes to come and go as you please then maybe the New Year’s Eve party in Berlin is more your speed. The celebration will take place on a two kilometer long stretch between Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column. Entertainment for the night will be provided by a host of live music performances, several lights, and laser shows, and plenty of DJ sets to jam out to. Along the festival parameters, guests will find different ethnic food stands offering a variety of snacks from all over the world. Their countdown to midnight will then lead to a mesmerizing fireworks display for all the view. Security checks will be carried out at all entrances. It is prohibited to bring any kind of fireworks, pointed or sharp items, or any other items which could be used as weapons. This also applies to glass bottles, backpacks, and other large bags. Oh, and by the way the admission is FREE! For more information on this event, you can visit https://www.berlin.de/en/events/3303144-2842498-new-years-eve-party-brandenburg-gate.en.html.

Then when all is said and done on New Year’s Eve wake up and spend the first day of the New Year “getting wet for a good cause” at the Penguin Swim located at the Princess Royale in Ocean City. Join hundreds of friends, family, and community members as they compete as a team to raise as much money possible for the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation. Registration for this popular and family-friendly event opens at 11:30 a.m. and the plunge into the Atlantic will take place promptly at 1 p.m. Afterwards, stick around for the awards ceremony where prizes will be awarded to the top three earning business teams, as well as for the community groups and organizations that raise the most money. The top-earning individuals will also be recognized as will the oldest and youngest swimmers, and those bearing the most creative costumes. If you’re afraid to endure the frigid water temperatures don’t fret, you can still help make a difference and participate in the Penguin Swim as a sponsor or spectator. We hope that our list of events has gotten you excited for New Years and all the good things that 2018 will bring. From all of us at Lighthouse Lakes, we wish you and your family a safe and prosperous new year.  May it be your best one yet!
